InfoThe teeth of a worm (in yellow) are at a large helix angle with respect to the axis of the gear. The worm has one tooth (sometimes two or three) wrapped continuously around a cylinder like a screw thread. The worm is meshed with a worm gear (in green), and the two axes are perpendicular to each other, similar to crossed helical gears.
